[He doesn't believe that. Greed is lying right now— he doesn't know why, but he is. Maybe it's to see his reaction, or maybe it's to confuse and then hurt him again. Why does he think it's necessary to lie? He accepted it at this point. Still, he looks at Greed]
[Right through the heart. That stings an awful lot, and he tightens his hold in Ling's wrist. Liar is a compliment, really. He deserves to be called far worse for his atrocious crimes.
Battling his body for control over the shaking, his voice is breathy and not all that strong.]
What do I say? To convince you? I'm disgusting . . . Disgusting. Nngh—
[There's an intense pain coming over him. He bows forward, resting his head against Ling's chest to wait out the pain.]
[he moves a hand on top of the other's head, stroking it as gently as he can]
You don't have to lie. It's fine if you hate me. It's my fault— it's my fault isn't it? That's why it's fine if you want to eat me. You can take everything from me.
[The pain, his emotional state and the emotional turmoil of Ling prove too much to handle at once. Breaking down isn't his style, but what else is he supposed to do? Look at all the things he's ruined in one day.
Hey gods, you should have left him dead to begin with. It's cruel giving his Ling back and then having this be the outcome.]
[He had an answer lined up until he became keenly aware you are covered in blood. He noticed it before, but now he's really noticing it . . . And gagging all over again, pushing himself away from Ling.]
[he has never been one for begging. Ling always had a certain dignity and pride— even when he threw it away, it was under his own terms and for a greater purpose.
None of that dignity is there anymore. As Greed pushes himself away, Ling pretty much crawls up to him, grabbing his arm and trying to keep the other from leaving]
Is it because I didn't want to eat you? I'll do it! I'll do anything, so, please!
[The last time he saw Ling so desperate, it was during that heated moment of him pulling away from the other to go on a suicide mission. This is nothing like that. This is disturbing on levels he didn't think possible. If someone came by—
Shit, that's right. They're in a shrine where anyone can walk by. Ling's talking so much crazy they would lock him up. That's not safe. Not safe at all. In the end, if anyone discovers the actions he took, he'll gladly accept punishment, but Ling . . . Ling is innocent, he didn't do a thing. Making sure Ling can function before turning himself in is important. He'll have to go ask for help from someone he can trust with the situation. He acted from an unknown influence; someone out there had to know if it's this place or what.
He's pushing himself off the ground, clinging to Ling as he does.]
[Greed isn't pushing him away. That's good. He's taking that as a sign that the other might have decided to give him a chance. Though he doesn't say anything, he's pretty much following Greed like a puppy]
[considering he didn't really clean it up, yeah, that is likely. He stays silent as the other pauses, idly looking at his own bloody wrist. As he wonders how come Greed didn't take his offer, the answer comes to him.
The wound isn't big enough, nor is it deep enough. Of course he didn't care for it. With that realization, he stops clinging to Greed in order to do a much better job, clawing at it again.
It's painful, but it doesn't matter. As long as it makes the other happy, he'll be forgiven.]
[Turning to see if this is as weird for Ling and—]
Kid!
[He's never felt this bad for punching that stupid face, but it's got to be done. The delicate balance he's keeping between freaking out and wanting to run away is wobbly at best. Shit, he can't go anywhere if he's going to harm himself like this.]
[It surprises him, but he doesn't react at all. Greed punching him is much better than not saying anything at all. He looks at the other, but doesn't say anything else]
[There's a moment of hesitation, but he doesn't object. He nods at the other's words, wanting to obey his orders. Opening the door, he walks right in.
The mess that he left is still there, and it's clear from his movements he's trying hard to ignore it. He's trembling and stumbles a few times, but he's headed for the shower.]
[He waits, leaning against the doorframe. When Ling disappears, he makes his rounds gathering up sharp instruments from the kitchen and tossing them out the door. That mess is disgusting and serves as a reminder of he's completely fucked his best friend over. He doesn't want to touch it let alone look at it, but he can't stomach the sight of Ling tripping over himself in guilt. Gagging, he pulls the covers from the bed and hides it the best he can under them. If they want to talk, they can use the bathroom. No mess to view there.
Fuck. The bathroom. That brat better be doing nothing but getting clean. He rushes in the direction of the bathroom, not bothering to knock before barging in.]
[he isn't doing much else beside standing there. The water is on, and he's under it, but he's completely still. Not moving, and his eyes are lost— looking at nowhere at all. It's as if he isn't even there]
[As soon as he's done cleaning himself up, he turns to look at Greed. Turning off the shower, he doesn't bother drying off and instead goes straight to the other, resting his head against his chest]
[To distract himself from the sudden closeness and the want to gag at the apology, he reaches for a towel and drapes it over Ling.
If he says "I need to leave you", Ling is likely to throw a fit and beg him to stay. That can wait for the right time, when someone who can take proper care of the other is located. If he says "snap the fuck out of it", that may very well cause a chain reaction of self-harm and apologizing for being unwilling to eat him. As it stands, being silent forever is looking like the best choice.
Hoping to cause Ling not to think too much about his silence, he begins drying him with the towel.]
[It has the opposite effect. Greed staying silent means he's doing this entirely wrong. How is he supposed to make up for this? Of all things, he can't take the other being so distant.

Liar.
